Catching the last cherry blossoms on my first days in Japan

This post is a bit different from my usual ones. As I’m travelling through Japan, I got incredibly lucky to catch the very last of the cherry blossoms in Tokyo. Camera in hand, I set out to capture them on my first day there. I simply wanted to share some of the beauty I came across, along with a few other spring blooms mixed in.

I knew cherry blossoms were a big deal in Japan, but I didn’t expect the scale of it. Parks, shrines, and even small alleys are lined with trees that turn entire streets into soft pink tunnels. I spent hours wandering the streets, and getting my step count in. My favourite place to enjoy the blossoms was the Meguro river, with incredible cherry blossoms promenade stretching for more than one kilometer.
